AI in teaching: foundation level
What to hand over to artificial intelligence, and how to check its work
Generative artificial intelligence tools produce polished-looking texts, exercises and worksheets in seconds; an answer can nonetheless be plausible and false, and a well-formatted resource is not, for that reason, a checked one. The programme does not dwell on the features of individual tools, which are bound to change, but on the skills that remain valid: deciding which part of the work to hand over to artificial intelligence, describing the task by stating objective, audience, context and format, critically evaluating what is produced, and taking responsibility for what is brought into the classroom. Participants work on a learning objective of their own, derive materials and access variants from it, check answers against sources and apply the European regulatory framework on personal data, transparency and human oversight.
