AI in teaching: advanced level
Agents and procedures that automate and augment a teacher’s work
A substantial part of a teacher’s work repeats with few variations: adapting materials, preparing tests and assessment rubrics, drafting minutes, giving feedback. Artificial intelligence tools no longer just answer a single request: they can follow procedures defined once and for all, known as skills, and carry out work on files and documents on their own, as agents. The programme teaches how to design these workflows starting from the simplest solution that works: identifying the tasks worth automating and those in which artificial intelligence is more useful as a thinking partner, translating one’s own way of working into reusable procedures and handing them to an agent with explicit objectives, success criteria and limits on autonomy. Every workflow is tested on real cases before it is adopted, and responsibility for the result stays with the teacher.
